Just before Covid restrictions swept Athens and restaurants had to close, the lovely people from ’48×17 Cycles’ invited me to do a one week kitchen take-over. 48×17 is a bike shop but also a cafe serving Greek tacos, beer and cocktails.
For one week we served dinner featuring a Mediterannean menu using the last of the season’s fresh ingredients: shared meze with lentil and mushroom pate and home-made chilli jam, a cold peach and tomato gazpacho, Med tostadas and vegan chocolate ice cream with pear, verbena and cardamom compote.
