‘Hydra- Hydra’: a wedding

End of September is still considered summertime in Greece so when a good friend asked me to cook for her pre-wedding picnic we were not prepared for the heavy rain which poured that day on the beach of the Four Seasons hotel in Hydra!

We were lucky to catch some sun for a while and guests enjoyed a light lunch served by us buffet style. Salads with fruit and vegetables, a white grape and almond gazpacho, marinated artichokes and cheeky halva puddings were some of the food that was prepared by me and indispensable co-chef Fotis Gavras.

We also did the mould for the Greek column inspired wedding cake that was executed by pastry chef Evgenios Vardakastanis.
