Core Athens

Core Athens is a nonprofit art association based in Athens, informed by the Kunstverein tradition and developed as a flexible framework for research, exhibitions, and public exchange. It takes shape through sustained engagement with its context, emphasizing dialogue, collaboration and attentiveness to the conditions of artistic practice.

For their “Common Grounds” soft launch program presentation, curator Eleni Riga invited me to do a performative tasting and an introduction to my research on the traditional healers of 16th- century Greece.  Exploring the medicinal properties of local flora and fauna through research, oral histories, and storytelling, the event culminated in a performative tasting experience engaging the senses through herbs, edible remedies and seasonal preparations.
